Privacy policy

Car Archive is a reference site you can use without an account. We don’t ask for your name, email address or any other personal details, and we don’t sell or share data about visitors.

No cookies or tracking

The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.

Settings saved in your browser

Two choices are remembered using your browser’s local storage, so they still apply on your next visit:

• your colour theme (light or dark), if you picked one instead of following your device;
• your unit system, if you switched to imperial.

These values never leave your device and aren’t sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them, and the site falls back to its defaults.

Filters and sorting on engine lists are kept in the page address (for example ?fuel=Diesel) so you can share a filtered list; they aren’t stored anywhere else.

Server logs

Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages may briefly record technical information about requests, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. This is used only to keep the site running and secure.

Links to other sites

Photo credits link to Wikimedia Commons, and corrections are collected on GitHub. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions can be raised through the Suggest a correction page.
